With a background in Economics and post-graduate diploma in Education, Gary’s career is focused on teaching and training.
Highly adaptable, Gary has taught secondary students early in his career. He now teaches polytechnic and management students alongside delivering values alignment programmes, resilience training and most recently, SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace at ROHEI.
After teaching English and Communication at the Deyi Secondary School and the Management Development Institute of Singapore, Gary joined the Singapore Institute of Management in 2011, and Nanyang Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2013, where he continues to lecture.
At SIM, Gary teaches in the Diploma of Management Studies programme — Business English, Business Communication, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics.
At Nanyang Polytechnic Gary teaches effective business writing and general studies modules such as cross-cultural intelligence. At Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Gary teaches Communications and Contemporary Issues.
Gary’s interaction with diverse groups of learners informs and enriches his role as a SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace trainer. A lifelong learner himself, Gary translates his own learning experience into an effective teaching approach. Complex digital learning concepts are simplified and delivered with distinct clarity.
A man of the outdoors, Gary spends his free time playing golf and tennis. He and his wife Jaslyn have a pair of twins, Amber and Ashley.
